How to Hi-Jack Christie's How-To Tuesday in Order to Shamelessly Promote My Blog Giveaway

Thanks to Christie for approving this idea!

It's time for a giveaway and since I love Easter and I love Easter Candy and Mother's Day is right around the corner and I love my mother and I love being a mother, I'm going to do a giveaway that celebrates both events. I think you're going to want this one!

First is a wonderful book for mothers. I Am A Mother is written by former CBS Morning Show host Jane Clayson Johnson. Keep it or give it to your mom!

Included in this giveaway is LOTS of Easter candy--a BIG assortment that will include lots of chocolate! You can use the candy in your kids' baskets, share it with your friends, or hide it in your underwear drawer and eat it all yourself!

AND, because I feel a little guilty for hi-jacking How-To Tuesday, I'll throw in a signed copy of my book Gifted. You can keep it or give it as a gift if you already own it. (And if you already own it, let me take this moment to offer my most sincere thanks for your support.)

Giveaway will end on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 6 p.m. mountain time. This should be easy to remember because your taxes are due.

I want everyone to have lots of chances on this one. So here is the list of ways to enter.

1. Leave a comment telling me one great thing about your Mom.

2. Leave another comment telling me why you like Easter.

3. Follow this blog through Google. (leave a comment)

4. Follow this blog through Networked blogs. (leave a comment)

5. Follow me on Twitter. (leave a comment)

6. Tell me what your favorite post is on this blog. (leave a comment)

7. Click the "Like" button on the right side of the page to like Gifted on Facebook. (leave a comment)

8. Leave a comment on the Gifted page on Facebook. (leave a comment here)

8. Link a favorite post from this blog to Facebook. (You can link a new post each day, which gives you four more chances. Just be sure to leave a comment with the link.)

9. Link a favorite post to Twitter. (You can link a new post each day, which gives you four more chances. Just be sure to leave a comment with the link.)

10. Get your friends to follow me on Twitter or Facebook and have them include your name in the comment, then you leave a comment to get credit for bringing me a new follower. (You'll each get an entry that way. Refer as many friends as you can!)

Please be sure to leave your email address so I can notify you if you win.

There are lots of chances to win, which means lots of chances for good candy to eat while you read a good book (or two). BUT DON'T BE OVERWHELMED! Even a couple of entries could make you the lucky winner!

What a crafty, dare I say sneaky thing to do: highjack How-To. BRILLIANT! I'm going to "enter", but just for the books!

I like Easter because it is a time to celebrate the life, atonement and resurrection of our savior.
It comes during spring, my favorite season, and also has the best candy of all holiday confections.

My mom is nice and super easy to talk to. I love her.

Ha! Hilarious. I love it.

Is it wrong to love easter for the Reeses peanut butter eggs? Probably.

I am not entering to win anything. I just want to say that i love my mother. She was loving, kind and patient. I hope to be like her. i also want to say that I have "Gifted" and I loved reading it. Great book! I love Easter because of the great atoning sacrifice from a loving Savior. I love your blog and I have several favorites, so can't pick just one. I won't be responding on all those other websites, but did want to say "keep up the good work." Your blog is fun and thought provoking. LMH

Great how-to, Karey! I didn't know you had written a book, how awesome! (That's what I get for joining "how-to" when I don't really know anybody else who does it). =)

This giveaway is totally awesome and to die for. Bless you.

I love my mom for way more things than I can mention here. But for now, I love how selfless she is. She helps me out ALL THE TIME with my five little kids while my husband is in Iraq. Maybe I can illustrate how much she helps me out by saying that I don't for a minute regret leaving HAWAII to move to a small, rural town in Central California to be near my parents during the deployment. She's made my life do-able right now. =)

I love Easter for all the obvious reasons (the Sunday reasons). But I also love it for Cadbury mini-eggs, which should be available in #10 cans for food storage.

We do the "bunnies and eggs" Easter on Saturday, and save Sunday for the "real" meaning of Easter. So I love it because it lasts 2 days!! Wooo hoooo!

Oh--and I loved your post about Mehmet. In high school I was friends with all the foreign exchange students--although we never had one live with us. I love that you were able to give him such a great experience, and that you were blessed as well!

It's a toss up for favorite with your post about the Book of Mormon musical. I haven't looked into it too much, but I like what you had to say about it.

I can't write about my mom in a space this small. I guess one of the things I love the most is that she's convinced I will be a success, no matter what. (And then she helps me make up the difference.)

I'd love the book (and the candy) so here's another comment. I love the lightness and hope of Easter.

I'm not sure I can pick out just one great thing about my Mom. My Mom was very supported of the things I wanted to do. I always called her my fan club, because she would brag about my "special" skills to anyone who would listen. She was a hard worker and instilled that in her children as we grew up.
One of the most special things about my Mom is that she raised 4 kind of rowdy kids in the church with out help from my Dad, who wasn't a member.
Mom passed away 6 years ago and I still miss her every day.

Sheesh, you're not asking for much, are you? ;o)

Let's see if I can get these right. One of the many things that I love about my mom, is that she and my dad are serving a mission. (I miss her soooo much!) She is a great example for our family.

I love the weeks leading up to Easter when I prepare my children for the Sunday that we celebrate the resurrection of Christ. My most favorite part is listening to Easter hymns and helping my children recognize what the spirit feels like when we sing them.

I don't have (or want) facebook or Twitter so here's one entry. Might as well, right? I love Easter because of all the new growth and the outburst of Spring reminding us of the real reason for the celebration -- Life. The Savior lives and because of Him, so can we. I love the treasure hunt we do with the kids instead of Easter baskets (my attempt to combine my husbands traditions with my own) with all the clues having to do with Christ and the Easter season.

I love my Mom for so many reasons, but one is that she pays attention and remembers what people like and she loves giving meaningful gifts.

And I love reading and I love (LOVE) chocolate so bring it on!! :)

My Mom is just plain great. While growing up I watched her do so many things, I can't even imagine how she got it all done. Homemade everything. Bread, cheese, cereal (I'm talking grape-nuts style),homemade breakfast every morning, dinner every night, dresses, stylish shirts, dolls, blankets and quilts. I am sure there are more. All this and I remember her reading novels to us at bedtime. THe Little House Series and Where the Red Fern Grows were my favorites. Now that I am an adult and a Mom, I am lucky enough to call her my wonderful friend and example.

Oops, was I supposed to just say one thing? Well, if I win I will share my spoils with my Mom.

I love my mom and miss her everyday. She was such a kind and giving person and would call me each day just to say hello and tell me she loved me.
I also love easter, for one thing I love spring and the flowers and colors and being able to go outside without being cold! Of course Easter is a wonderful reminder to each one of us of what Jesus Christ has given to us. Something that we should remember daily. thanks for the contest.
Only 1? My mom has supported me through a teenage pregnancy, a divorce, a hard-times with my own kids. She is giving in so many ways but most importantly with her unconditional love.
