I'm so excited to be involved in the Jane Austen Giveaway Hop. I love Jane Austen. My work-in-progress right now is a story that involves one of Jane's greatest heroes, Mr. Darcy.
For this giveaway, I'm offering two things. The winner will get a $10.00 Amazon card. I searched through the Jane Austen offerings and with $10.00 you can have a heyday on all things Austen.
The second thing the winner will get is the right to name a character in the book. She's a character based on Caroline Bingley. She's wealthy, arrogant, beautiful and secretly in love with you-know-who. So with those things in mind, think of a name and enter the giveaway!
Enter your name in the comments and then enter in any other way you want. Be sure to "Like" the For What It's Worth page on Facebook for updates on my delicious romance that comes out in December.
Now, let's all read a Jane Austen book. Be sure to click on the picture above to link to all the other giveaways in this hop.

A caroline type...hmm. I was going by personal acquaintances and I don't know any. lol Okay people from school - how about constance? or maybe Ophelia?
How fun...well I think you need that name that conveys the personality but also is classic in many ways and you want it to be believable...those factors narrow it down somewhat. I personally like my name and it does not remind me of Caroline Bingley at all but many people have told me they know many Courtneys that are not so nice. So I will go with Courtney. Or if you would like something more traditionally British how about Poppy?
Thanks for the unique challenge and giveaway!

How about the name Meg?
Prudence Shoemake
(I don't know if you're looking for just a first name) I've never read Jane Austen, but from your description of Caroline Bingley, I think the last name Shoemake is appropriate. The word "snob," which evolved to mean "one who aspires to gentility by showing disdain for those in his/her own working class," actually began as a word for a shoemaker, or a shoemaker's apprentice.
I've always thought of the name 'Prudence' as pretentious, so the name Prudence Shoemake seems appropriate.
