He's Home!

754 days. 126 letters home. Hundreds of pictures. 14 companions. 7 areas. 5 bikes. 2 mission presidents. 2 Christmases. Thousands of smiles and millions of tears.

Those are the numbers, but they're only part of the story. They don't tell how much we missed him. They don't tell you how hard he worked, how tired he is, or how many people he influenced. They don't tell about the sacrifices he made to be gone or that we made to let him go. They don't tell about the joys, the disappointments, the bike wrecks, the baptisms, the testimonies borne, the prayers, and the miracles.

Most of all it doesn't tell about the love. Because that's what it boils down to. Love for the people. Love for a new country. Love for the commandments. Love for our Heavenly Father and love for the Savior.

We are so glad to have him home, so glad for what lies ahead for him and so glad for what he's done.

So touching--I've never met Bruce and these photos still make me teary and I'm cheering him on over here. I know how much we love the missionaries in our area of the country, they're an incredible influence.
Way to go Bruce, WELCOME HOME!
btw-you guys have a beautiful family.

Yay for Elder White! So glad that he made it home safe and sound (although I don't envy him at the moment--transitioning back to "regular life" is really, REALLY difficult). Hope you greatly enjoy these first few weeks of having him home again, and thank him for me for his service!

The picture of Travis hugging him and you on the other side makes me cry. What a great young man and family.

amazing pitures. They made me very emotional. I cannot wait to see that fine young man, Elder White. Bruce looks great. Tavis, the emotion in your face showed the true love of a father who missed his son, and the joy on your face, Karey, showed the true love and pride of a devoted mother. And Vern, Vanna and Joe,you look so happy to have your older brother back. Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! Love you all and see you soon.
Love, Mom/Grandma Higginson

Wow. He is home. It is weird not including him in our prayers any more. Can't wait to see him and all of you in a few short weeks.
